New Delhi: Three armed robbers looted gold and cash from a jewellery shop in Badarpur area of south-east Delhi, police said on Sunday.
Police officers have got CCTV footage of two robbers entering the jewellery shop while one gunman was stationed at the shop's entrance. The footage clearly shows one of them carrying a rifle and another robber carrying a bag.
According to police the incident took place on February 15 at around 8 pm, when two armed robbers entered the jewellery shop. Soon after entering the shop, one of the robbers thrashed the shop owner with the butt of a pistol when he resisted them, while the other robber carrying a bag stuffed ornaments and fled away from the spot.
According to the owner, the robbers had looted around Rs 2.5 lakh in cash and about 20 tolas of gold from the shop. More than 24 hours have elapsed and police are yet to get any clues about the robbers and looted ornaments.
