Dassault ties up with Vel Tech for tech training

CHENNAI: Dassault Systèmes, a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, recently announced a partnership with Vel Tech Dr RR & Dr SR Technical University. As part of this initiative, Dassault Systèmes and Vel Tech University announced the setting up of the Centre for Design, Engineering and Manufacturing (CDEM) at the University. An alliance to this effect was announced recently by Andy Kalambi, President, Dassault Systèmes, South Asia and Dr R Rangarajan, Founder-Chancellor, Vel Tech Technical University in the presence of Bernard Charles, CEO & President, Dassault Systèmes and Shrikant Marathe, Director, ARAI.On similar lines, ARAI (www.araiindia.com), a research and testing organisation under the Ministry of Heavy Industry and Public Enterprises signed a MoU with Vel Tech Dr RR & Dr SR Technical University for M.Tech in specialised area of Automotive Engineering. As part of this unique initiative, engineering students will get a chance of  specialising and  practical exposure at ARAI. Through these facilities, Vel Tech would provide hands-on training for Dassault Systèmes Version 6 technology, which is intended to enhance the employability of engineering graduates. The range of software on which the students will be skilled includes CATIA V6, DELMIA V6, SIMULIA V6, ENOVIA V6, 3DVIA Composer and Virtools.
