Compared to television, films allow actors to satisfy their creative urges: Ram Kapoor
In town to promote 'Kuch Kuch Locha Hai', Ram kapoor spoke about why he took up the film. He also spoke about his experience of working in the television industry.

New Delhi: Ram Kapoor has already made quite a name for himself in the telly world, courtesy his gripping performances in daily soaps such as ‘Kasam Se’ and ‘Bade Achche Lagte Hain’. Now, it seems, that the 41-year-old is all set to take the film industry by storm.

In town to promote his latest big screen outing ‘Kuch Kuch Locha Hai’, Kapoor explained the difference between the way the TV and Film industries function.

“Television shows are shot against very tight deadlines. So things are a bit hectic. Films on the other hand are shot according to a more flexible schedule. As such, while working on films one gets some more time and freedom to satisfy creative urges.” he said.

However, the actor was quick to point that the intricacies associated with acting as an art form are independent of the medium in question.

“Barring these minor differences both industries are pretty much the same. In both cases we as actors, are required to emote and work with co-stars.” quipped the critically-acclaimed actor.

Interestingly, the makers of ‘Kuch Kuch Locha Hai’ waited over an year for Kapoor to give his nod to the project- this inspite of Kapoor not being a big name in Bollywood.

“The project was offered to me last year. Unfortunately, being busy with ‘Bade Acche Lagte’ and ‘Humshakals’, I had to say no to it. However, when the makers approached me again, I realised that the film had been written keeping me in mind. “ said the actor

Directed by Devang Dholakia,’ Kuch Kuch Locha Hai’ focuses on a married man’s obsession with a diva. While its promos may imply the presence of mature content, the reality is very different.

“’Kuch Kuch Locha’ is a clean comedy. Feel free to watch it with your family. Had this been a sex-comedy, I might, not have accepted it” clarifies the star.

While in the film Kapoor will be seen wooing the glamorous ‘Baby Doll’ Sunny Leone, in real life the actor was never really smitten by any B-town heroine.

“I was never fantasized about any actress in particular. Frankly speaking, keen to be like them, I was fascinated by legendary actors like Marlon Brando and Sanjeev Kumar,” he stated

However, on a parting note, Kapoor let out a little secret, revealing that his class 6 art teacher was the first person he fantasized about.

“Yes she was my first crush” he added.
