THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Britain has shown  interest in forging tie-up with the Kerala-based Asian School of Business  for conducting collaborative studies in areas like climate change, agriculture and energy relevant to the ‘Emerging Kerala' campaign.A press note here said that the proposal for tie-up between British Universities and ASB came up for discussions during a meeting between Mike Nithavrianakis, the British Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai, and ASB director S Rajeev here. Britain is keen to increase the engagement of its universities and companies with India and is looking for collaborations and tie-ups, Rajiv said. Rajeev, who chairs the Kerala State Higher Education Council’s Committee on industry-academia linkages, observed that India can benefit from the experiences of British institutions. During the meeting, the UK official showed interest in agriculture and rural areas and mentioned the research work being carried out by British Universities in  climate change and its impact on agriculture. ASB has already forged a string of tie-ups with some top-notch universities like the Kansas University in the US and Instytut Organizachi Zarzadzania W Przemysle (ORGMASZ) of Warsaw (Poland). It is also in the process of establishing professional alliances with management institutions in Central Europe and East Asia.
