Panic gripped the students and staff of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan after a caller said a bomb had been planted in the building.
New Delhi: Panic gripped the students and staff of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) in central Delhi Monday after a caller said a bomb had been planted in the institution. The call turned out to be a hoax but a fake explosive device was seized during a search, police said.
After the BVB authorities informed police, a bomb disposal combed the institution but no explosive was detected. A fake device was found on the wall beside the main entrance of the educational institution.
"It seems like a prank played by a student of the institution. The student made a toy resembling an explosive device out of a video game," police said.
Police were trying to identify the culprit who made the hoax call, they added.
