Best Bakery: HC to hear Yasmeen's plea today
Yasmeen Shaikh filed an appeal saying she was lured into giving false testimony against the 17 accused by social activist Teesta Setalvad.

New Delhi: The Bombay High Court is all set to hear the appeals filed by Yasmeen Shaikh and 9 others convicted in the 2002 Best Bakery case on Tuesday.

Shaikh filed the appeal saying she was 'lured and misguided' into giving false testimony against the 17 accused by social activist Teesta Setalvad.

Of the 17 accused, nine have been convicted and are serving life sentence.

The court might rule either way: quash their conviction or uphold it.

Yasmeen, who was the prime witness in the Best Bakery case in Vadodara in 2002 where 14 persons were killed, had sought for her evidence to be recorded again at the stage of appeal.
