BANGALORE: The Central Investigation Department (CID) sleuths have arrested three persons in connection with the Rs 1,500-crore scam that was reported in Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagra Palike (BBMP). The three accused are Nagaraj, a contractor, and Paresh and Shivanand, both Assistant Executive Engineers. The state government had handed over the case to the CID, merely a day after Siddaiah was shunned away from the BBMP.The CID sleuths are now further probing the matter.Officials who have been taken into custody are involved in misappropriation of funds at Gandhinagar, Malleswaram and Rajarajeshwarinagar constituencies.The alleged irregularities at the ward level functioning during the year 2008-09 were brought to light after the Technical Vigilance Committee under the Commissioner (TVCC) report exposed the scam to the tune of Rs 1,500 crore.
