KOCHI: The fans of Asif Ali on Sunday stayed away from watching the celebrity cricket league match between Kerala Strikers and Mumbai Heroes held in Kochi. The fans did not contact the organisers to collect the free passes for the match, distributed to the fans associations of all the cine actors in Kerala. It seems like Asif Ali fans are unhappy with his absence. Athish Ali, Asif Ali’s brother, said Asif was busy with the shooting of his new film. “Asif told me that he contacted Edavela Babu, team manager of Kerala Strikers, and discussed the issue. We hope they understand his situation,” Athish added. Kerala Strikers dropped Asif Ali after he failed to attend the training camps. He also failed to inform the organisers the reason for his absence. The Strikers did, however, make some unsuccessful attempts to contact him. Yet, Asif Ali’s fans are disappointed. "We really wanted to watch him play in Kochi,” said Fayes, a fan at Kochi.
