HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday appealed to all the Telangana employees and their associations to end the strike to ensure implementation of welfare and developmental programmes. He, however, instructed the officials concerned to take necessary measures to minimise hardship to the people in Telangana.
The chief minister called a meeting here to review strike situation with the cabinet subcommittee members and senior officials concerned. In view of the proposed APSRTC employees' strike from Sept 19, he directed the transport and RTC officials to make alternative arrangements.
With regard to the strike by Singareni miners, he directed the energy officials to take necessary steps for maintenance of power supply with least disturbance. He wanted the officials to maximise efforts to import coal and purchase power to meet the shortages. He also wanted for close monitoring of power supply. The officials informed him that there was a slight improvement in respect of attendance of Singareni workers in the coal mines.
Deputy CM C Damodar Rajanarsimha, revenue minister N Raghuveera Reddy, chief secretary SV Prasad and officials were present.
