Anand keen to keep world title as long as possible
Vishwanathan Anand says he is not short on motivation to retain world title.

Jaipur: World champion Vishwanathan Anand is eager to retain his title as long as possible and feels being a family man has helped him keep focus.

"Yes I want to keep the world title for as long as possible. I want to retain it," said Anand, who was in Jaipur to participate in a seminar organised by NIIT.

Despite having won everything that was there supposed to be won, Anand said he is not short on motivation to retain the world title.

"There is no question of lack of motivation. I play because I love the game and I am still enjoying playing. Yes there are days when I also feel tired and fatigue catches up. But I carefully plan my schedule and mix the playing days with breaks in between which rejuvenate me," he said.

Anand, who is married to Aruna, said being a family man has helped him through moments of crisis.

"Being a traditional and family man has helped me in tough times because there is always someone to lean on."

The legend feels with more and more youngsters taking to the game, it has made chess faster and more competitive.

"The game is becoming faster and younger. In this age the information trickles fast and to lower level. In our days the moves of the games played between top players used to reach us after long gap but now within minutes you can have access to the moves of the top games. The level of competition is also getting higher," he said.
