BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said he would take an all party delegation to the Centre in April to discuss solutions for drought, Cauvery, problems of arecanut growers and sericulture. “Let us spend a day or two in Delhi and impress upon the leaders to take these issues seriously and redress the problems in right earnest. It must be a meaningful and concrete solution,” said Gowda in response to the issue of areca nut growers raised by the Congress and JD (S) members during the zero hour at the Assembly here on Wednesday. He said the state government was regularly updating the Centre on the problems faced by areca nut and sericulture farmers owing to drought. “The latest issue is Cauvery. We will take up all these issues with the Centre once the budget session is over,” he added.The chief added the government discharged duties to mitigate problems of these farmers. “But in order get a comprehensive long lasting solution, Centre’s assistance- technological and financial is a must,” he said.
