AIFB Pondy unit to go it alone in polls

Pondicherry: The AIFB Pondicherry unit said that the party would go it alone in the Assembly elections in the Union Territory and would field candidates in seven constituencies.

The seven constituencies are Greater Nellithope, Embalam (reserved), Raj Bhavan, Reddiarpalayam, Ariyankuppam, Bussy and Lawspet (all in Pondicherry region).

AIFB unit president I Ramakumar said that the party General Secretary Debrabata Biswas and AIFB State President M Karthik would kickstart the poll campaign soon.

Ramakumar regretted that the election authorities had not taken action to include the names of persons, whose names were deleted from the voters lists, despite many representations.

Instead, the election authorities were busy in removing banners, flag masts of political parties and grafitti, he said.
