The children have been brought back to Assam.
Mumbai: The Maharashtra CID, with the support of an NGO rescued as many as 40 children from an alleged child trafficking racket in Mumbai on Monday.
The children, 36 of whom were girls, were from Assam and were working in the fishery industry as child labourers.
