This is different from leaving a group, where you are removed from the groups member list, can no longer participate, and, if the group is private, cannot view the group anymore. If you want to leave a group, you can read How to Leave a Facebook Group. But if you just want to unfollow a group, you can follow the steps in this article.
On iOS
Open the Facebook app.
Tap on your profile picture. It's at the top righthand corner of the screen.
Select "Groups". Under your profile, select the "Groups" option.
Tap the "Your groups" option. It is at the top of the screen. You will then see the list of groups you have joined.
Select the group that you want to unfollow.
Tap ☰. Once inside the group that you want to unfollow, select ☰ at the top left of the screen.This will open a new menu.
Select "...". This will open up another menu.
Unfollow the group. A pop-up menu will appear with options for managing your group settings. Tap on "Unfollow Group".
On Android
Open the Facebook app.
Select ☰. It's at the bottom righthand corner of the screen. This will open up all of the shortcuts.
Tap Groups.
Select "Your groups". It's at the top of the app. A list of groups that you have joined will then pop up.
Tap the group you want to unfollow.
Select the "Joined" button. A pop-up menu should then appear.
Tap "Unfollow group". You will now no longer receive notifications for the group, or see posts from that group on your feed.
On Desktop
Log in to your Facebook account. Head to facebook.com and log in to your account.
Go to the "Groups" page. Click on “Groups” below “Find Friends” in the left panel on the page.
Find the group you want to unfollow. You can either search for it using the search bar, or click the "See all" link to view all of the groups you are in.
Click on the "Joined" option. Once you find the group that you want to leave, click on "Joined".
Unfollow the Group. From the drop-down menu, click on "Unfollow Group". You will now no longer receive notifications from that group.
