The man, identified as Gaurav Sharma, was living in a rented apartment in Gurugram’s S Block of DLF Phase 3 area, news agency PTI reported citing police officials. The man was originally from Uttar Pradesh’s Agra and shifted the his current house with his wife around six months ago.
The Gurgaon Police in the early hours of Monday received information that a child was heard crying inside a house in DLF phase 3. The house, situated on the first floor of a building, was locked when the police reached. When they broke open the door, they found the woman in a pool of blood and her crying and sitting near her body, police informed.
The child was immediately rescued and rushed to the government hospital. The toddler was injured severely.
On scanning the CCTV visuals, the police found that the accused after killing his wife boarded the metro to Ghaziabad on Monday morning. He was then seen jumping on the road from the railing of a platform at Kaushambi Metro station.
“All the circumstantial evidence suggests that Gaurav Sharma, who committed suicide, had killed his wife Laxmi. We have filed an FIR of murder against him,”PTI reported quoting DLF Phase-3 police station SHO inspector Dinkar.
The police have sent the body for post-mortem and have launched an investigation into the matter.
