Manchester United's Jadon Sancho Doubtful to Leave Old Trafford During Winter Transfer: Report
A report has suggested that Jadon Sancho who has fallen out of favour with the manager Erik Ten Hag might not leave Old Trafford in the January transfer window.

Manchester United are still struggling to find a club that is eager to sign Jadon Sancho when the winter transfer window opens in January next year. Sancho has been out of United’s first-team action since venting out his frustration about boss Erik Ten Hag in a social media rant. Though United officials made him delete the post later, Sancho remained adamant in his decision of not apologising to Ten Hag, making the situation worse.

As the issue could never be settled, the Old Trafford hierarchy decided to part ways with Sancho in the upcoming transfer window. Now a report by the Sun has claimed that Manchester United are yet to find a viable option as the English winger’s high wage structure has become a problem in attracting interest from other European clubs.

Sancho’s former club Borussia Dortmund showed their interest in re-signing Sancho in January. But the Bundesliga giants have already turned their back on the footballer as he won’t be fit in the team’s present style of play, the Sun reported. Another German outfit RB Leipzig was also reportedly keen to secure the signature of Sancho. The deal, however, has collapsed owing to Sancho’s wage demands.

Sancho has featured in three matches for Manchester United this season. He was last seen in action in late August during a Premier League game against Nottingham Forest. Sancho came as a substitute in the home match, with the Red Devils registering a narrow 3-2 win.

The 23-year-old forward was expected to take the field in the following game against Arsenal away from home. That’s when manager Erik Ten Hag axed him from the teamsheet, referring to his “poor performance” in training. Sancho countered the decision, in a now-deleted post on X, where he labelled himself as a “scapegoat.”

Ten Hag later addressed the issue and explained the reason for exiling Sancho. According to the Dutch manager, he had to be strict in his stance to protect the “culture” of the club. “It is about a culture and every player has to match certain standards and it was about that. He (Sancho) knows what he has to do if he wants to return and it is up to him,” Tan Hag said, as quoted by Goal.com.

Jadon Sancho joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in July 2021 on a five-year deal worth €85 million ($99.98m).
