Kolkata: FC Pune City on Saturday received a blow when their forward John Goossens was ruled out of the next match because of lower rib cage and paraspinal injuries.
"John has lower rib cage and paraspinal muscle injuries which will keep him out of our next game (against Chennaiyin FC) at home on November 11," a team official said.
"We'll assess him again after four days to take a call," the official added.
Goossens had scored the solitary goal in their win over NorthEast United FC in the previous match.
FC Pune goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya had an outrageous aerial challenge against his own team-mate before falling over the Dutchman in an awkward manner in the 78th minute.
The 26-year-old forward was immediately rushed to the hospital and had to be replaced by Mady in their 3-1 upset win over Atletico de Kolkata on Friday.
