Kerala Blasters' player-boss David James is determined to keep the team's decent run of form going and has asked his teammates to keep the pressure on the table-toppers.
Kerala have lost three games, won two, drawn two and are currently sixth in the points table. But the good thing for them is that they are just two points away from a spot in the top four. Mumbai are third on the points table.
James, given the importance of the upcoming match against in-form Mumbai City FC, said that his team has to be on its toes from the beginning and has to concentrate for full ninety minutes.
"We want to go as close as possible to the top team, that is the aim. The only thing we can do is win our games and hope the teams in front of us drop points," James told reporters.
Kerala are still very much in contention for a top four finish thanks to two wins and two draws in their last five games, and James wants to continue the improvement with a positive result on Wednesday. "We are a very strong team and we can deal with the demands we have in front of us. We also want to make the gap between ourselves and teams behind us as big as possible", James added.
The former England goalkeeper also insisted there are no nerves in the team now and the dressing room is a happy place to be and all the lads are very confident going into the upcoming matches.
"Everybody is happy and hopefully we can carry our decent run of form. We have been improving all the time and will continue to work hard and work on different things. We are making good scoring opportunities in the middle and hopefully we will take majority of chances in the coming matches", he concluded.
