UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2024: Assistant Commandant Exam Date Released, Check Schedule
As per the official schedule, the UPSC CAPF examination will be held on August 4, 2024. It will be conducted in two shifts -- paper I from 10 am to noon and paper II from 2 pm to 5 pm.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the exam date for the Assistant Commandants in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). As per the official schedule, the examination will be held on August 4, 2024. It will be conducted in two shifts — paper I (general ability and intelligence) from 10 am to noon and paper II (general studies, essay and comprehension) from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Through the recruitment drive, the UPSC aims to fill a total of 506 vacancies for Assistant Commandants in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). Candidates who applied for UPSC CAPF 2024 can check the exam schedule on the commission’s official websites at upsconline.nic.in or upsc.gov.in.

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF): 120 vacancies

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF): 100 vacancies

UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2024: Selection Process

The written exam of UPSC CAPF recruitment exam consists of two papers. The performance of the candidates in each round will be taken into consideration for the final exam selection. To get selected for Assistant Commandant, candidates have to go through the following phases:

— Written Exam

— Physical Test

— Interview

“There will be minimum qualifying marks separately in each Paper as may be fixed by the Commission in their discretion. Paper-I will be evaluated first and evaluation of Paper-II will be done only of those candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I,” reads the official notice.

Candidates must meet the UPSC CAPF physical eligibility standards to qualify for this exam. Furthermore, candidates must be at least 20 years of age and not more than 25 years of age as of August 1, 2024, to apply for the exam. That is, they must not have been born before August 2, 1999, and not before August 1, 2004. The upper age limit will be reduced as per state rules. They must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
