Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University (BBMKU) in Dhanbad, Jharkhand has tightened the rules for entering the campus, keeping in mind the safety and discipline of the students. Now, students will have to compulsorily show their ID card and uniform to enter the university campus. This decision was taken by the university administration after a clash between two groups of students on Tuesday. The involvement of an outsider was also found during the clash, which raised questions about the security arrangements.
A presentation of short research was organised in the PG History Department of the university on Tuesday. During this, there was a dispute between two groups of students in semester four (sessions 2022–24). The debate between the two groups escalated so much that the matter reached a scuffle. Seeing this clash going on between the students, the university administration immediately intervened and tried to calm the matter.
Meanwhile, an outsider youth also entered the campus along with the guardian of a student, which worsened the situation. The presence of the outsider youth further escalated the dispute and raised new questions of security in front of the university administration.
After this, Professor Dr Ajit Kumar said that after this incident, the university administration immediately issued new instructions. He said that now no student will be allowed to enter the university campus without an ID card and a uniform. Outside students and other persons will also not get entry into the campus.
Security personnel have been given strict instructions to check the ID card of every student at the entrance and also check the uniform. The university administration has also given strict instructions to the students to follow these rules. Students who do not follow these rules will not be allowed to enter the campus. This step has been taken to ensure the safety of the students and maintain discipline on campus.
After this incident, the university administration has also taken steps to restore peace among the students. Dr Ajit Kumar has appealed to the students to try to resolve any dispute through communication and to stay away from any kind of violence.
The university administration also said that they are fully prepared to deal with any such dispute in the future and will take every possible step to maintain peace and discipline on the campus.
Under this new directive, the university administration has also made it clear that no outsider will be allowed to enter the campus, whether he is an acquaintance of a student or a guardian. It will be mandatory for everyone to follow the rules. If any person violates these rules, strict action will be taken against him.
