Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan shared a photo with his wife Safa Baig on their eighth marriage anniversary. Pathan, who was the Player of the Match in the 2007 T20 World Cup final, married Safa in February 2016. The couple is blessed with two sons Imran and Suleiman.
Pathan shared a heartwarming post with his wife on their marriage anniversary where he pointed out some qualities of his wife.
“Infinite roles mastered by one soul – mood booster, comedian, troublemaker, and the constant companion, friend, and mother of my children. In this beautiful journey, I cherish you as my wife. Happy 8th my love,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Last year, Pathan got to relish a proud moment ahead of the final between India and Australia on November 19. His son Imran, along with his nephews Ayaan and Raiyaan, got the privilege to serve as the player escorts in the big-ticket game. They stood with the Indian cricketers during the national anthems at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Witnessing my son Imran, and my nephews Ayaan and Raiyaan, standing proudly for the National Anthem on the field is a memory that will last a lifetime. Grateful to @ICC @BCCI for this unforgettable moment. pic.twitter.com/Z8Fc5XbpUR— Irfan Pathan (@IrfanPathan) November 21, 2023
Pathan recently gave his take on Indian paceman Jasprit Bumrah’s workload management.
He feels that the absence of Mohammed Shami is not affecting Bumrah’s workload as his action, which he tweaked a bit since his comeback, is absolutely perfect now. Bumrah missed almost a year of competitive cricket due to a back injury in 2022-23 but since his return, the premier pacer has been in scintillating form for the Indian team across formats.
“Obviously, Shami’s absence does have an effect but that does not mean chances of injury will increase for Bumrah. His action is absolutely perfect now,” Pathan told PTI TV.
