When Dhruv Jurel was told he’s been called-up in the India’s Test squad for the ongoing series against England, he was expectedly nervous. And then he was plagued by another big concern: How to figure out where he should be sitting in the team bus?
The 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batter is on his maiden assignment with the Indian team after having impressed with his performance in domestic circuit and in the IPL last year.

In a short clip shared by BCCI on their social media account on X (formerly Twitter), Yashasvi Jaiswal asked Jurel how he managed to zero in on his seat in the team bus since he’s yet to get an answer for himself.
“How did you find your place in the team bus because I have still not figured out where to sit,” Jaiswal asked his IPL teammate Jurel.
“I was just nervous after hearing of my selection in the Indian team. And then I was worried about where I should be sitting in the team bus. Because if I take a seat and someone else arrives and tells me (to get up) that this is my seat,” Jurel told Jaiswal.
“I was nervous. I came up with this strategy that, say hypothetically if the team bus leaves around 8 pm, I will arrive at 7:59 pm after everybody else is settled so I can find my place easily,” he added.

After KS Bharat’s below-par show with the bat in the first two Tests of the series, it’s being widely reported that Jurel may get a look-in for the third match in Rajkot with the series currently locked at one-all.
Jurel, who represents Uttar Pradesh in domestic circuit, says whenever he gets his maiden India cap, he would dedicate it to his father.
“If I will get my Indian cap, will dedicate it to my father because he’s my father. If I cannot figure out something, I just speak to him. He guides me and has always been my hero,” he said.
