Speaking with India TV on the famous talk show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, Pant recalled his miraculous recovery from multiple injuries.

“So the doctor came to me and said, ‘Rishabh, you need to do three miracles two of which you have already done’. I didn’t have any idea about my life then (he quipped), so I was listening to it thoroughly. He said, ‘Firstly, you are alive after such a gruesome accident’,” Pant shared.

“My right leg bent opposite by 90 degrees. I don’t how my instinct worked, I asked a guy who was there at the spot to hold it and I twisted it back to its position. So the doctor said, “Secondly, your leg. Had you not done it, it would have led to an amputation.

“The third miracle he said that the ACL and PCL won’t require surgery if they heel themselves. None of the ligaments were left in my knees but I assured the doctor that I would go through this as well. Ultimately, it happened,” Pant added.

“It was no less than a miracle that the ACL and PCL healed itself. As per the doctors, it happens with a few cases in hundreds-thousands. I think the god was kind,” he added.

After spending more than a year at the National Cricket Academy, Pant received a clearance from BCCI’s medical team and took part in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as Delhi Capitals captain. Though the team couldn’t make it to the playoffs, he ended the season as the top-scorer of the team and also ensured a spot in India’s T20 World Cup 2024.
