ENG vs SL, 1st Test: Spectator's One-Handed Catch With Pint on the Other Leaves Paul Collingwood Stunned - WATCH
Paul Collingwood was amazed by a spectator's one-handed catch whilst holding a pint in his other hand during Day 3 of the England vs Sri Lanka Test in Manchester.

Those who have played cricket with the red ball, know how difficult it can be to take a catch. But this spectator made it look easy during Day 3 of the first Test between England and Sri Lanka that took place at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester.

During the first delivery of the 83rd over, the Sri Lankan pacer Asitha Fernando bowled one short to Mark Wood. The Englishman looked to go after it and pulled it away for the maximum towards the mid-wicket stands.

Mark Wood who is a fast-bowling specialist, scoring the six runs might have been surprising, to say the least. But what the spectator did took the spotlight. The fan who was in the stands stunned the commentators and the others that were around him by taking the catch with just one hand while the other was firmly gripping his drink at the time.

The stunning catch wowed the commentators as the crowd lit up cheering on the spectator for his stunning take. However, it did not take long for Mark Wood to give away his wicket as England were all-out by the end of the 85th over.

The home side, set a total of 358 thanks to a brilliant maiden century by the wicketkeeper-batter, Jamie Smith along with a half-century by Harry Brook to support him. With a lead of 122 runs, England managed to take control of the first Test.

England’s grip on the game was further established by the early wickets of Nishan Madushka and Kusal Mendis. Chris Woakes and Gus Atkinson struck in their first two overs to get England in a dominant position.

Sri Lanka will have to play out of their skins if they are to get back in contention for a victory. The middle-order batting unit would have to find a way to get a big partnership to ensure that they can post a sizeable total to keep them in the hunt to win the first Test.
