The HPE VelociRaptor 700 can hit 100 km/h in around five seconds, has over 700 horsepower going to all four wheels and will be strictly limited to 25 examples, one for each year that Hennessey performance has been in business.
Good news for anyone that loves muscle cars but missed out on snapping up one of Hennessey Performance's 25 very special birthday edition Mustangs. And that's because the tuning and customization company famous for its 270 mph Venom GT hypercar, has decided to prolong its 25th-anniversary celebrations with another seriously fast, seriously limited edition car.
However, this time, the Texan tuners have turned their attention from muscle car to a Ford pickup truck.
The VelociRaptor 700 25th anniversary edition as it will be called, starts out life as an unassuming Ford F-150 pickup. However, when Hennessey's finished with it, the vehicle has 704 bhp on tap and is capable of roaring from 0-60 mph in just 4.9 seconds.
This blistering turn of speed is down to the addition of a 2.9-liter supercharger system but to ensure that after beating everything off the line in its initial drag race that the engine doesn't promptly melt, Hennessey has overhauled everything from the fuel injectors to the exhaust system as well as improving the intercooler and engine breathing.
It's this attention to detail, plus the three-year warranty that the company offers on all its customised cars that sets the company apart from a host of competitors – and it's the reason why the company is celebrating 25 years in business.
The truck's upgrades continue with custom 20-inch wheels and the option of on/off-road tires, special Hennessey front and rear bumpers and integrated LED bar lights plus the company's own off-road suspension upgrade.
The double-cab pickup also gets "Hennessey" embroidered leather seats and special interior badging as well as special chassis and VIN numbers denoting its status.
And, of course, no limited edition (just 25 will be built) would be complete without a custom exterior paint finish, badges and celebratory graphics.
