The driver of the 19340 Bhopal-Dahod Intercity Express reportedly forgot to stop the train at Bhatisuda flag station on Sunday evening, leaving passengers stunned. The train, which was scheduled to halt at Bhatisuda from 5:55 pm to 5:56 pm, arrived late at 6:10 pm and continued past the platform without stopping.
The driver only realised the oversight after the train had passed the platform and subsequently applied the brakes, bringing the train to a halt outside the station. The train remained stopped outside the platform for approximately one minute before resuming its journey.
The incident came to light when a passenger tweeted about the situation to the Railways’ social media account. In response, railway authorities initiated an investigation into the matter.
Bhatisuda station, located between Nagda and Piploda Bagla stations, is a flag station where trains are required to stop at a designated board. The driver had been informed of this requirement during training, and it is also noted in the caution order for the duty shift.
Railway officials are expected to take action against the driver within the next few days. The driver and guard had not reported the incident to the control room, which might have delayed the discovery of the mistake if not for the social media complaint.
