Between 2012 and 2022, the number of high net-worth individuals living here increased by 40%, even as the pandemic drove an exodus of wealthy people from the city. The total population of New York is about 82 lakh. According to the report, 744 people have assets worth more than 100 million dollars.

Along with these, emerging markets, businesses, and the increasing number of billionaires and millionaires residing in them are a few features that outlines the overall wealth of the city.
Henley & Partners has released a report highlighting the world’s top 10 wealthiest cities. The company has assessed cities based on the number of resident millionaires with high net worth, rich heritage, geographic landscape, enterprise, and regional development that has a global impact. Among them, New York takes the first place. The financial centre of the US tops the list of wealthiest cities in the world. At Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, residential apartment prices are at a peak. New York city is home to the world’s largest stock exchanges – The Nasdaq and the NYSE.
Apart from them Northern California, Tokyo, Singapore, London, Los Angeles, Paris, Sydney, Hong Kong, and the last one is Beijing stands in the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth places in the list respectively.
