This Bokaro Hairstylist Creates Images Of Celebrities On Customers' Heads

Surprising stories often go viral on the internet, and recently a hairstylist from Bokaro, Jharkhand, has been capturing attention for his exceptional haircutting skills. According to reports, Mahendra Pramanik, who resides in Sector 4, Bokaro has a unique talent for creating intricate images of well-known personalities such as Virat Kohli, Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh and various film stars on his clients’ heads.

Due to his excellent art, crowds of people flock to him during elections, and due to his special skill of using scissors, he has created a distinct identity in Bokaro. Mahendra shared with Local18 that he is a professional hair and makeup stylist and has been working in this field for the past 12 years. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to work as an assistant stylist with well-known Bollywood figures, including Raza Murad, Shatrughan Sinha and Shraddha Kapoor. At present, he is offering his services at a reputable salon in Bokaro.

Mahendra revealed that his passion for art began in childhood, with a love for pencil sketches and painting. However, due to family responsibilities, he had to assist in the family business. To formalise his artistic skills, Mahendra pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Pracheen Kala Kendra in Chandigarh. He later completed a PhD in Hair and Makeup from the renowned Jawed Habib and Beauty Academy in Delhi.

Talking about his struggles, Mahendra mentioned that he comes from a humble background. His father, Ramkishan, used to travel around their village offering haircut services, while his mother, Prema Devi, was a housewife. The family’s financial difficulties made it challenging for him to pursue education in larger cities.

With the support of his village community, BCCL manager JK Singh, and MP Dhullu Mahato, Mahendra was able to complete his education in Delhi. Finally, Mahendra shared his future goal: to establish an academy where he can offer employment opportunities to talented youth in Jharkhand by training them in hair and makeup skills.
