Office Meeting Turns Chaotic As Colleagues Clash Over Use Of Hindi Language, Here's the Truth
The incident happened during an office Zoom meeting where an employee was asked to speak in English.

Office meetings often involve discussions over critical matters or deadlines not being met punctually. However, the recent viral video from a Zoom meeting took an unexpected turn as colleagues engaged in a heated argument regarding the use of Hindi. The footage, shared on X by the page Ghar ke Kalesh, captured a casual conversation about New Year plans among co-workers during the video call. However, tensions escalated when one participant switched to speaking in Hindi, sparking a dispute over language choice.

It must be noted that the video that has caused quite a stir on social media is a work of fiction.

In the brief video, the staged incident was recorded using office Zoom meeting format where an “employee” was asked to speak in English as some “employees” didn’t understand Hindi. Although initially he spoke in English, later, the individual switched back to Hindi, causing more agitation among others, leading to a heated argument. Attempts were made by one worker to ease tensions by offering to translate the conversation while another urged colleagues not to escalate the situation over the “petty issue.”

Despite these efforts, the conflict continued and some “employees” started using their own native languages. As the discussion escalated, the man before muting the call, claimed, “kuch bhi karlo thik hai, hindi toh hamari matra bhasha hai aur rahegi. (Do anything, but Hindi is our mother tongue and will remain).”

While the origin of the video is not known, the opinions of social media users were divided.

A user expressed curiosity about why the individual couldn’t speak English and questioned how it would feel if someone spoke Tamil or Kannada to him.

Another humorously claimed that such chaotic meetings should continue to happen.

Observing the reactions of others when the individual spoke in Hindi, a user joked that they would repeatedly do such things.

An individual highlighted the irony of colleagues being comfortable conversing in English but they were uncomfortable when someone speaks in Hindi. They suggested that if someone couldn’t understand Hindi, they could politely address it or if they knew the language, there shouldn’t be an issue understanding a few sentences.

A person recommended relocating Silicon Valley from Karnataka.

Since the video was shared, it has gone viral and garnered over 1 million views. However, subsequent reports emerged suggesting that the conflict depicted in the video was, in fact, staged.
