Reportedly, the terrifying incident took place in Toronto.

A video of a disturbing encounter between a cab driver and a woman in Canada has caused outrage and prompted a social media discussion. The conversation takes an unexpected turn when the cab driver, who is believed to be of Pakistani ancestry, tells the woman passenger that if this was Pakistan, he would have “kidnapped her.”

In the now-viral clip, shared on X (formerly Twitter), the cab driver told the female passenger that “if they were in Pakistan, he would have kidnapped her.” As per reports, the terrifying incident took place in Toronto.

The concerning conversation between the two began when the driver said, “If you were born in Pakistan…I’m from Pakistan,… you would have been kidnapped by now”. The woman, appearing astonished, inquired, “I would have been kidnapped by you?” In response, the cab driver confirmed, “Of course! Because there’s no other option to get you, right?… Since you are in Canada, I cannot say anything to you, I cannot touch you.” As the conversation continued, the female passenger admitted, “That is not flattery that is kinda scary”.

The video was shared on the microblogging site on May 14 while the exact date of the incident is not known. “Toronto Uber driver tells passenger if they were in Pakistan he would kidnap her,” the text read. The video has collected more than 6 million views.

While some X users demanded the cab driver’s suspension and deportation, others defended him, claiming that the video had been edited and parts were missing.

“Arrest and Deport this creepy Pakistani immigrant,” a user commented.

Another said, “Whoa, that’s seriously messed up. If that happened to me, I’d be reporting it to Uber and the cops ASAP. No one should be throwing around threats like that, joke or not.”

However, a user came out in support of the cab driver stating, “I feel like he’s just preaching like what if right before he said “fun fact, it’s so messed up where I’m from that..” cause dam. So much shit goes on there and we don’t EVER talk about it. It’s sad.”

Another who also spoke on behalf of the driver mentioned, “Looks like he has broken English. He is trying to explain to her what could happen with her in Pakistan if she was out that late… we need to see the full video.”

Many users even noticed that the female passenger was heard laughing in the video, and she even thanked the driver before leaving – which is unlikely to occur if the driver was threatening to kidnap her.
