Borewell In MP's Sagar Becomes A Local Attraction As Water Flows Without Pump
The borewell continued to flow water but there was no submersible pump installed in it, nor was any other method being used to extract the water from the ground.

A village in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar’s borewell has become the buzz of the town after it started to gush out water 24 hours a day. The village council decided to stop the continuous water flow by capping the borewell, but in vain. As water continuously emerged from the ground through this borewell, the villagers called it a miracle of nature. People from nearby villagers heard about the incident and are visiting Sagar’s village to witness the phenomenon.

As the borewell in Sagar’s village continued to flow water, it was surprising for everyone since there was no submersible pump installed in it, nor was any other method being used to extract the water from the ground. People have failed to establish a reason behind the gush of water out of the borewell pipe.

While many are left to wonder and call it a miracle, a native in an interview with Local18, shared that the borewell was drilled about 20 years ago due to water scarcity. Unfortunately for the villagers, not a single drop of water came out of it. Hence, it was left just like that with no motor installed in it. Ever since, whenever the village received a good rainfall, water starts flowing out of the borewell. Initially, the water would easily rise to 10 feet. Then, a lid was put on it since it was located on the roadside, making it challenging for people to pass by without getting drenched.

PK Kathal, Professor of the Geology Department at Dr Harisingh Gour Central University, explained that this was no ordinary borewell but an artesian well. It is a deep well drilled into a permeable rock layer to extract water from the underground of a lake or an aquifer by applying pressure. It is the pressure that forces the water to come to the surface of the borewell and flow out of the pipes. When the groundwater level depletes, the flow gradually decreases. In many cases, the layers of the rock and clay beneath the ground and inside the aquifer act as a natural filter and remove specific contaminants.
