What happens when you illuminate a mountain and go for nocturnal skiing wearing an LED ski-suit? One of the coolest and colourful movies of all times. Nick Waggoner and his partners at the Sweetgrass Productions filmed night-skiing on pristine slopes in the backcountry of British Columbia and Alaska. In 2014, with 10,000 pounds of equipment, 4,000-watt lights the size of washing machines, generators to power them, scaffolding, wire and cable—up peaks higher than 7,000 feet, and months of calculation, the team got some elite athletes don custom-made Philips LED ski suits and were successful in capturing a spectacular show of light and motion. The end result was a short film titled Afterglow. Blending the act of skiing with the color and light technology, the film is said to be one of the most cinematically profound ski movies ever made. Watch it to believe it:
