The Fairphone 2 is now available for pre-order, according to the company's website. At 529 euros, the Fairphone 2 is intended to rival the iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6, coming in at 25 per cent less than those models.
Fairphone says their latest phone intends to increase longevity and repair-ability. Owners can replace or upgrade the chip, screen, camera and battery by snapping new parts into place.
The Fairphone 2 comes with Android 5.1, a Snapdragon 801 chip, 5-inch Gorilla Glass screen and an 8MP camera. It also offers dual SIM slots and ultra fast 4G LTE capability.
The independent electronics firm, based in Amsterdam, was named Fastest Growing Startup in Europe by European Tech5' in April 2015.
Pre-orders for the Fairphone 2 can be made via the company website.
