The second look poster of the upcoming Malayalam film Secret Home is out. It promises a mixture of mystery, gloom and dread. The film is a crime drama based on a real incident that took place in Kerala, as mentioned on the poster. In the poster that was unveiled recently, we see the four protagonists inside a room with blood stained walls, while there is a couch with a puddle of blood and a hand on it. It sets the mood of the film, which seems to tell a dark and gritty tale. Written by Anil Kurien, the film stars Shivada, Chanthunath, Aparna Das and Anu Mohan in the lead roles. It is directed by debutant Abhayakumar K. The first look has arrived with the tagline, ‘Every house has secrets’.
In an interview, Abhayakumar revealed that the movie will address a few subjects that members of our society would be unwilling to bring up. He went on to say that it will highlight certain unpleasant truths and the darker aspects of the individuals.
“Usually, in most movies, the main characters are gentle or good-hearted people. In my film, it is revealed that each of the four primary characters in the movie has a darker side", he said. The film’s artists were also commended by Abhayakumar for their dedication in deciding to work on this project. According to him, the main actors of the movie – Chandunadh, Anu Mohan, Sshivada, and Aparna Das – stayed on the set longer and contributed to the improvisations required to give their parts life.
The filmmaker expressed optimism about the response from the audience, saying he thinks positive word-of-mouth will contribute to the movie’s success. For the filming of Secret Home, 31 sites in the Kottayam district were used in roughly 30 days. The film, which is scheduled for release in February, has three distinct soundtracks composed by Sunny-fame Sanker Sharma. Santhosh Thrivikraman is the financier of the movie.
