A whistleblower in the multi-crore Vyapam scam, Anand Rai, has raised suspicion on a fair probe even as the Supreme Court on Thursday ordered a CBI probe into the case.
Speaking to CNN-IBN, the whistleblower said that it was essential for the Supreme Court to monitor the probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation to ensure fairness.
He said, “The Supreme Court must monitor the probe” otherwise it would not be possible to reach the truth as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was ruling the state as well as the Centre.
This came even as the apex court decided to hear the petitions filed by the whistleblowers in the Vyapam scam separately.
The Supreme Court on Thursday transferred all cases related to the Vyapam scam and deaths to CBI. The apex court also sought a reply from the CBI in two weeks on whether the probe should be monitored by the Supreme Court.
