Chandigarh: Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa on Sunday flayed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly fanning communal hatred across the country and working against interest of minority communities. Choosing Madhopur as venue for the rally was "deliberate and was (aimed at sending) a message against the minority communities," Bajwa said.
Modi on Sunday addressed BJP's Sankalp rally at Madhopur in Pathankot, in which Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was also present. Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir both have minority population and venue of the rally was aimed at communal polarisation, Bajwa alleged. "Modi is fountain head of communal hatred. He has no agenda for development of nation and is desperate to become Prime Minister at the cost of unity and integrity of the country," he said.
"Only a secular party with known secular credentials could give justice to people of all shades," he said adding that that the NDA has lost its relevance after most of its partners left the alliance.
