New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has accused Idea Cellular of fooling people through its 'no fooling' advertisement. Pointing out an ad on a Kahmiri handicraft salesman, Omar has said that the ad is misleading as the pashmina shawls are not supposed to pass a ring test as projected in the ad.
"Dear @ideacellular your ad is wrong & totally misleading. Pashmina shawls aren't supposed to pass a ring test, that's a shatoosh shawl," Omar tweeted.
He has also hit out at Idea for projecting Kashmiri salesmen as 'crooks'. "It's also insulting to the hundreds of honest Kashmiri handicraft salesmen when the image projected is that of crooks @ideacellular," he tweeted.
The Idea ad shows two women buying pashmina shawls at a store where the salesman assures them of the quality. They then show him a Whatsapp video saying pashmina shawls are supposed to pass a ring test.
