New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders have filed an application in the Delhi High Court, seeking that the defamation suit filed against them by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley be quashed.

The AAP leaders have sought from the Delhi High Court that the Rs 10 crore defamation suit be quashed. They have also asked the court for more time to reply to the suit.

Kejriwal and five others of AAP were dragged to the High Court by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for issuing allegedly false and defamatory statements against him and his family members in connection with the alleged DDCA scam.

Jaitley had sought damages of Rs 10 crore from them. The Finance Minister was accused by the AAP leaders of siphoning out money from the DDCA for his own benefit when he headed the body for 13 years.
