Jaipur: The three-day Chintan Shivir deliberations have filled the Congress with "new energy and resolve" and if the party abides by its new declaration, nothing can stand in the way of its progress, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi said in Jaipur on Sunday.
Thanking party delegates at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) meet in Jaipur, Gandhi expressed happiness over the manner in which party business was transacted over the three days and hailed it as "an example" of how to conduct party affairs.
"We had open talks on all subjects.. all gave their valuable contribution and we agreed on some points," she said in her closing remarks.
She said the Jaipur Declaration, adopted by the party, was an "important document" that lays down the party's future direction. "If we go according to it, nothing can hamper our progress," she added.
"In our political path, newer difficulties keep coming, but if we are determined and have faith in our path and policies, then we can achieve our goals," said Gandhi, speaking in Hindi.
"I believe that when we leave here, it will be with a new energy and resolve," she said and thanked the local party organisers and delegates for making the meet "a success".
As she finished her speech, Rahul Gandhi, her son and the party's new vice president, got up to hug his mother.
