Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reacted to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s “Muslims must get reservation” remark and accused the INDIA bloc of not being able to see beyond “appeasement” ever.
“They can’t see above appeasement now. If they come to themselves they will also take your breathing rights away,” PM Modi said.
Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday came out in favour of reservation for Muslims and said it “should be done now”. The RJD chief, while talking to reporters in Patna, said that the BJP-led NDA government wants to “finish the constitution’.
“People are voting for us. They (BJP) want to finish Constitution and democracy. It came to the knowledge of people and that is why they are clarifying,” he said.
Lalu Prasad Yadav further expressed support for reservation for Muslims, stating, “Reservation toh milna chahiye Musalmano ko, pura (Muslims must get reservation.”
PM Modi, while addressing a public rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar, took a dig at Lalu Prasad Yadav saying a “fodder scam accused” leader who is out on bail is advocating reservation for Muslims.
“He (Lalu Prasad Yadav) further said that full reservation should go to Muslims. It means whatever reservation SC/ST and OBC community had, they want to take it away and give it to Muslims,” the prime minister said.
“They are doing such things because their vote bank is only left with minorities. Now Congress also wants to decide who will play in cricket or not on the basis of religion,” PM Modi further added.
PM Modi also said, “Congress and INDI alliance are spreading a new rumour that if Modi gets 400 seats, he will change the Constitution. It seems as if the Congress people’s intelligence has been locked by the vote bank. Hey, they should know that from 2014 to 2019 and 2019 to 2024, Modi had the support of 400 seats in the form of NDA and NDA+.”
