Mumbai: Another case against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray was registered on Thursday at Vashi Police station in Navi Mumbai after his party workers vandalised toll booths across the state.
The MNS chief was booked under sections 153, 504, 505 1(B) & 117 of the IPC. This was the third case filed against Raj Thackeray. On Tuesday, first case was filed against him under section 109 in Pune's Rajgad police station for vandalism of toll booths and the second case was filed on Wednesday at Loni-Kalbor police station in Pune rural that too under section 109.
Party workers on January 27 went on the rampage, vandalising toll plazas in different parts of Maharashtra following their leader's diktat not to pay the road levy and "thrash" those who raise a voice against it.
Raj Thackeray had asked his workers not to pay fee at the toll plazas even if it required resorting to violence. "I am instructing all MNS workers, colleagues and people not to pay toll at any toll booth in Maharashtra from now on. If someone opposes you, fight with them," Thackeray had said.
