An under-construction house collapsed in Delhi’s Satya Niketan area on Monday, police said. Sources told News18 that all five people trapped under the rubble have been rescued and the search operation has ended. Teams from the NSG, NDRF, DFS, Delhi Police, and CRP had rushed to the site following the collapse. Six fire tenders were also pressed into service.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had been personally monitoring the situation. Taking to Twitter, Kejriwal wrote, “This accident is very sad. The district administration is engaged in relief and rescue work. I myself am taking every information related to the incident.”

Atul Garg, Director of Delhi Fire Services, earlier said, “We received a call around 1:24 pm about a house collapse in Satya Niketan building number 173 here…Five labourers are trapped under the debris and efforts are being made to rescue them.”
