In 2023, the entertainment world mourned the loss of several luminaries from the realms of music, movies, and television. The year marked a farewell to esteemed figures, including the veteran actor Satish Kaushik, actor Nitesh Pandey, and Junior Mehmood. Hollywood, too, bid adieu to notable personalities, including F.R.I.E.N.D.S star Matthew Perry and Andre Braugher.

Satish Kaushik’s demise left a profound void in the hearts of fans. The actor passed away on March 9 at the age of 66. Anupam Kher informed CNN-News18 that Satish Kaushik suffered a heart attack on his way to the hospital in Delhi. The actor was not only celebrated for his impeccable comic timing but also stood as an inspiration for numerous aspiring actors. He worked in films like Tere Naam, starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor-Sridevi starrer Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Mr India, Saajan Chale Sasural and most recently, Sharmaji Namkeen, Thar and Chhatriwali.

Nitesh Pandey

Nitesh Pandey, known for his role in Om Shanti Om, passed away in Nashik at the age of 50 following a heart attack. Nitesh embarked on his theatrical journey in 1990 and secured his debut acting role in the show Tejas in 1995. His notable contributions include work in serials like Manzilein Apani Apani, Astitva Ek Prem Kahani, Durgesh Nandini and more. He was also part of the movie Khosla Ka Ghosla.

Javed Khan Amrohi

Veteran actor Javed Khan Amrohi, known for his roles in films like Lagaan, Andaz Apna Apna and Chak De India, passed away due to lung failure at a hospital in Mumbai. Filmmaker Ramesh Talwar told PTI, “He passed away at the hospital around 1 pm as both his lungs failed.” Javed Khan Amrohi last appeared in Sadak 2.

Junior Mehmood

Junior Mehmood passed away at the age of 67 due to cancer at his residence in Mumbai on December 7, 2023. With an illustrious career spanning 265 movies in seven different languages, he also ventured into production and direction, contributing to six Marathi films. His notable roles include appearances in hits like Brahmachari, Kati Patang, Hare Raama Hare Krishna, and Geet Gaata Chal among many others.

Vaibhavi Upadhyay

TV actress Vaibhavi Upadhyay, who was known for her role as Jasmine in JD Majethia’s Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, tragically passed away in a car accident in Himachal Pradesh. She was 32. Vaibhavi was in Manali with her fiance Jay Gandhi. She worked in shows like Qasoor Hai Amla Ka, Please Find Attached, and the movie Chhapaak and others.

Reportedly, the actor died after suffering from a brief illness.
