Sidharth Malhotra is gearing up for two of his most-awaited projects – Indian Police Force and Yodha. While it is no secret that Yodha will hit theatres on December 8, the release date for Rohit Shetty’s OTT debut Indian Police Force has not been officially announced as of now. The highly-anticipated OTT series landed in Sidharth Malhotra’s lap after he decided to call Rohit Shetty for work.
Appearing on Koffee With Karan in 2022, Karan Johar asked Sidharth Malhotra about a director he would never shy away from asking work. The actor mentioned Rohit Shetty’s name and added that he got a role in Indian Police Force after he made a call to the filmmaker. “Well, I did call up Rohit Shetty and today we’re working together,” he said.
In a press statement at the time of the series’ announcement, Rohit said, “I am super excited to be working with the amazingly talented Sidharth Malhotra in this series. I have always strived to push the envelope of action-first entertainment and with this series, I am confident we will create a new benchmark.”
Earlier, it was said that Indian Police Force makers are eying Diwali 2023 for its release. However, the insider now claims that makers might postpone the plan due to the release of Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 during the same time.
Helmed by Rohit Shetty, Indian Police Force also stars Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi in key roles. On the other hand, Yodha is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Besides Sidharth, it also stars Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna in key roles. Yodha was initially supposed to release on December 15 but it was recently announced that the film has been pre-poned to December 8. The film is set to clash with Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi starrer Merry Christmas.
