Lee Jong Suk Not Part Of Lee Eung Bok's K-Drama
While Lee Jong Suk has rejected the role, Go Min Si's definitive response has not been received. This drama is helmed by Lee Eung Bok, renowned for hits like Descendants of the Sun.

It seems like there is no end to the major casting changes going on with a highly anticipated Korean Drama series. In November, it was officially disclosed that Lee Jong Suk was considering the role of the male lead in director Lee Eung Bok’s upcoming romance named My Relationship That I Also Oppose (literal title). This news came after previous discussions in September involving Go Min Si and Choi Hyun Wook for potential roles. However, by October, scheduling conflicts led Choi Hyun Wook to decline the offer. Recent updates on December 26 from STARNEWS revealed that both Lee Jong Suk and Go Min Si have decided not to accept their respective offers.

Studio Dragon, the production company, clarified that Lee Jong Suk’s decision was due to his scheduling conflicts with his film shooting. Nevertheless, they dismissed rumours about Go Min Si’s casting falling through, asserting that no definitive response had been received from her side.

Addressing the speculations, Studio Dragon emphasised that discussions regarding the broadcast schedule and casting were ongoing, refuting any claims of the drama’s cancellation. Studio Dragon told Star News, “The cancellation of production is groundless. Casting work is currently in progress.”

Lee Jong Suk has not been doing much work since MBC’s Big Mouth, which ended in September last year, and the movie Decibel, which was released in November of the same year, reports Naver Entertainment.

Talking about actress Go Min Si, following the Netflix original series Sweet Home Season 2, which was released on December 1, she will appear in Netflix’s In the Forest with No One scheduled to air next year.

My Relationship That I Also Oppose is a romance drama helmed by director Lee Eung Bok, renowned for previous hits like Descendants of the Sun, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (also known as Goblin), Mr. Sunshine, Sweet Home, and Jirisan.

Penned by Kim Eun, the script explores the theme of rekindling first loves, questioning whether a reunion with an ex is a continuation of familiarity or the beginning of an unknown relationship.

Despite these developments, the drama is still in progress, and Studio Dragon aims for its release in 2024, promising an engaging narrative centered around the complexities of love and relationships.
