Mithun Chakraborty, one of the renowned actors, will be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Amid this, an old statement of late actor Irrfan Khan has been doing the rounds on the internet. Both artists have faced criticism and insults in their careers before making it big. Irrfan Khan once expressed his feelings about the Disco Dancer star. Irrfan has been a part of many amazing films in the Hindi cinema. With every script, he has breathed life into every role. His brilliant performance and versatility often made him a popular choice for directors. A few of his notable works are Paan Singh Tomar, Piku and The Lunchbox. He has also been a part of a few English films like Life of Pi, The Amazing Spider-Man, Inferno and Puzzle.

When Irrfan Khan was on Anupam Kher’s chat show, he revealed a few things about him. The Hindi Medium actor believed that a person with a face like his could never become a hero. He said that he saw Mithun Chakraborty, who was more handsome than him, but he felt that if Mithun da could become a hero, then he probably could too. Irrfan Khan had once confessed that after watching Mithun Chakraborty’s Mrigaya, he had a misconception that his face resembled Mithun Chakraborty a little.

Irrfan Khan has faced many insults in the industry because of his looks. In an interview, he had once mentioned that while shooting for the TV show Chandrakanta, he asked about his role. He was insulted in front of the entire unit and was asked if he thought he was actor Dharmendra.

Irrfan Khan was last seen in Murder at Teesri Manzil 302, which was posthumously released. He was suffering from neuroendocrine cancer. He was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on 28 April 2020, to receive treatment for a colon infection caused by the disease. He died on 29 April 2020 at the age of 53.
