The makers have unveiled the first teaser of the upcoming Kannada film, Powder. The project is a collaboration between the banners of KRG and TVF, announced in August 2023. Here is what the audience can anticipate with the yet-to-be-released film through its latest glimpse.
Dubbed as a romantic comedy, Powder is based on the themes of underlying human emotions and why humans need love. The 1-minute 45-second clip starts with an interesting statement. Written in the form of a word’s meaning, the sentence says, “Powder: A Fun-Indian film from the Kannada film industry. The following video showcases our lead (played by Diganth Manchale) in a romantic situation only to be interrupted by a friend. It then hilariously delves into the reality of a human’s basic instincts and needs, which incorporates love and lust. The description written below details more on the release. It states, “ Powder is a hilarious youthful comedy that uncovers underlying emotions of greed, lust, love and the need for people to be affable, loved and wanted." The audience will get to experience fun, thrill, action, romance and hope.
The teaser was shared on the official YouTube channel of the film’s banner, KRG Connects, on May 17. The fans express their excitement in the replies below. The first user stated, “Crazy teaser and crazy editing… this movie must win." Another fan shared, “Amazing teaser…. looking forward to the trailer." And a third user wrote, “Entire cast is superb. Eagerly waiting to watch the full product on July 12th." The glimpse has gained more than 261,000 views on the platform and thousands of likes on the platform since the unveiling.
The film’s producers, Karthik Gowda from KRG and TVF’s Arunabh Kumar spoke on what to expect from the release. They stated, “We endeavour to tell rich, diverse stories that celebrate young adults in every way." Mentioning films like Delhi Belly, Fukrey Franchise and Madgaon Express, they said they made Powder for the Kannada audience as well as youth everywhere.
The powder is helmed by Janardhan Chikkanna and stars Diganth Manchale, Dhanya Ramkumar, Sharmila Mandre and Anirudh Acharya among others. It is set to hit the theatres on July 12.
