Actor Vikas Sethi, known for his roles in popular 2000s TV shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahiin To Hoga, and Kasautii Zindagi Kay, passed away on Sunday, September 8, at the age of 48. He is survived by his wife, Jhanvi Sethi, and their twin sons, born in 2021. Following his death, Jhanvi Sethi spoke to PTI about the actor’s final moments.
Vikas Sethi’s wife Jhanvi Sethi said they were in Nashik for a family event when he started vomiting and experiencing diarrhea. He didn’t want to go to the hospital, so they called a doctor home. “After we reached my mother’s house in Nashik, he had vomiting and loose motions. He didn’t want to go to the hospital so we asked the doctor to come home,” she said. When she checked on him, he had already passed away. She added, “When I went to wake him up at around 6 am (on Sunday), he was no more. The doctor there told us he passed away last night in his sleep due to a cardiac arrest.” she said. His body has been sent to Cooper Hospital in Mumbai for a post-mortem.
His most popular television appearances include that in Kahiin To Hoga, where he played Swayam Shergill and in Kasautii Zindagi Kay, where he played the role of Prem Basu.
In 2021, Vikas shared a video on Instagram after undergoing leg surgery. He mentioned that, although the doctor recommended a month and a half of bed rest, he was determined to recover faster and stronger. Vikas also promised to spend time with friends and continue making videos for his fans. Vikas was also determined to get back in shape.
On the personal front, Vikas Sethi was first married to Amita, a cabin crew member, and they participated on Nach Baliye. Their marriage ended in divorce, and they didn’t talk much about it. Later, in 2017, Vikas met Jhanvi through mutual friends.
