Vijay Deverakonda has penned an emotional note to his father, Deverakonda Govardhan Rao, thanking him for everything that he has done for the actor. Ahead of the release of his new film, Family Star, Vijay took to his Instagram handle to pay a moving tribute to his dad alongside a video which featured a series of throwback photos of the actor with his father.

Sharing the video, Vijay called his father “my hero, my star”. The video also featured an emotional message by Vijay, who said, “My Family Star… Without you I wouldn’t be where I’m today. From my first steps as a baby, till every step I take today I know you’re standing behind me and watching over me. You struggled so I never have to, you sacrificed your happiness so that I could be happy. You are my first best friend. You are my first hero. You are my strength. If I ever hurt you or let you down, forgive me. Know that I love you. Making you proud will be my biggest success, and you will forever be My Family Star.”

In his post’s caption, Vijay wrote, “Life is full of highs and lows and I do not know what it holds in store. But I work everyday to make you proud and happy. I love you my Superstar. We made #FamilyStar to celebrate the stars in our lives, sharing with you a little flashback of the man who i made this movie for. I dedicate this movie to every Man/Woman/Boy/Girl fighting for their family. Lots of love, Your man. Vijay.”

Meanwhile, the early reviews of Family Star featuring Vijay and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles, are out! The film premiered in the USA on April 4, a day prior to its India release, and the early response from the audience is quite positive.

The audience has particularly praised Vijay’s on-screen chemistry with Mrunal, who previously impressed everyone in Nani starrer ‘Hi Nanna’. Sharing the review, a user wrote on X, “Decent first half and comedy worked well… Vijay and Mrunal at their best. A good family track movie. The Interval banger is really uff (bomb emoji and fire emojis). Emotion works beautifully in the 2nd half that saves the movie! My Rating – 3.5/5.” Another user called the film a “perfect family entertainer!!”
