This 2021 Telugu Movie, Made On A Budget Of Just Rs 6 Crore, Minted Rs 70 Crore

Naveen Polishetty is one of the most sought-after actors in Telugu and Hindi cinema with films like Jathi Ratnalu, Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya, etc. His film Jathi Ratnalu, written and directed by Anudeep KV, proved to be one of the biggest commercial hits at the box office

As per the reports, this film produced at a budget of Rs 6 crore earned an estimated Rs 70 crore at the box office. Reportedly, the OTT giant Amazon Prime offered an OTT deal of Rs 26 crore to the makers. Some reports point out that the OTT deal for the film was Rs 18 crore. However, the film’s producer Nag Ashwin didn’t budge and struck down the OTT deal with Amazon Prime.

He was confident that the film would be a hit at the cinema halls. His decision turned out to be right and the film became a blockbuster at the box office. It has even crossed 1 Million dollars (Rs 8,39,60,800) at the United States of America box office. After a successful theatrical run, Amazon Prime got the OTT rights of this film at a reported Rs 6 crore.

Apart from Naveen, the actors Rahul Ramakrishna, Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Keerthy Suresh and others also played key roles in Jathi Ratnalu.

Besides Jathi Ratnalu, Naveen last acted and won accolades for his film Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty. The film also features Anushka Shetty in the lead and was released on September 7, 2023. The romantic comedy received accolades from both audience and critics. Upon the success of the film, Naveen, in a press meeting expressed his happiness and said that is very happy with the audience’s reception towards the film. The 34-year-old actor said that it happened despite the film being released alongside the blockbuster film Atlee’s Jawan featuring Shah Rukh Khan.

Naveen Polishetty added that when they announced that release date, there was tension as Jawan was a big release. Makers were concerned about how would Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty manage to earn at the box office. “We made a good film, I know the audience will like it. I thought it would have been better to come solo. But the audience made our film a super hit,” he said.
